It's the new billion -- what is it?

Mon, 10/13/2008 - 8:40am
Trillion: It's the new billion.

I've never seen this before, but apparently it's been around since 1989.

It was turned off in the 90's - you remember - when the national debt decreased?
Now it's back, and it's run out of spaces for the numbers. How friggin' sad are we?
Pay particular attention to the part that reads
YOUR family's share. Thanks to the LA Times for this article. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iiPw_tglRSoNHLEBU6rOVlBiZbnQD93P59G82http://www.funwithwarcrimes.com

President Bush was "very disappointed."

Mon, 09/29/2008 - 12:26pm
awwww...isn't that just so sad? Or friggin' hilarious depending on your perspective.
President Bush was "very disappointed" that his buddies didn't get free reign with a $700 Billion dollar request.
Well, president Bush, there are a few hundred million of us that are "very disappointed" in the last 8 years. Care to do anything about that?
We are "very disappointed" that you took us to war in Iraq and wasted billions of dollars on your personal vendetta.
We are "very disappointed" that we are now known as a country that endorses torture.
We are "very disappointed" that your ignorance allowed the banking abuses to continue and continue and continue when every intelligent person WE know has been waiting for this disaster for the last 5 years.
And we are "very disappointed" that our videos are the only place your ass will be on trial for war crimes.

Is it just me?

Paulson on his knees reminds me of Tom Cruise on Oprah's sofa. Just a little too staged and earnest to be real.

Palin in her interview w/Katie Couric sounds so much like that poor, stressed
Miss North Carolina beauty pagent contender. You remember, the one who was pretty confused about who has access to maps and who doesn't...

Call me cynical if you want, I'll just call me wise.http://www.funwithwarcrimes.com

How Come Bush Didn't Offer Us This?

Thu, 09/25/2008 - 3:15pm
How Come Bush Didn't Offer us a different sort of bailout? Why are companies more important than people. This is too simplistic a view, because it doesn't take the international financial tentacles into consideration, but it's still interesting that someone did the math....

To my fellow Americans......

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000
bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a
We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it'll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance – health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company
that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it... If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG – liquidate it. Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work.'
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.

And remember, this plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.http://www.funwithwarcrimes.com

Have your say about keeping Bush's bullshit out of the next presidency...

Wanna be sure you don't vote for another Bush? Take this test...

Fri, 09/19/2008 - 9:11am
Remember when your mom tried to help you control your emotions? Well, she was right and SHE'S BAAAAAACK -- and she's going to help you vote.
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/MatchOMatic/fullpage?id=5542139

We'd like our next web-series to be titled "Fun With Prosperity and Peace". So we're voting that way. We don't care so much for unnecessary war (in case you hadn't noticed) and we're worried about those who might rush to vote in another war cheerleader.
Waddda ya gonna do, eh? Most people buy with their emotions and vote with their emotions. That's why we have unprecedented levels of personal and public debt and a country in it's worst economic state since The Great Depression.
Different leaders bring different results. It's that simple. The GWBush years have certainly proven that results of those who voted with their emotions in the last 2 elections instead of studying the deeper issues and the long term results of those candidates issues and doing the hard work to look deeper inside leadership gave us -- well -- a disaster of ignorant proportions.

Want to be sure the people you know vote for intelligence and issues instead of personalities?
ABC created the "Match-o-Matic". A funny name, but a very effective methodology for isolating the political issues and helping you make the distinction between wh0 you THINK you want to vote for and who you REALLY want to vote for. Consider it a political therapist.

Beware -- you may not get the answer you expected! Check it out right here....

Simplistic? Yes it is.
Complete? No, but it gives you a great place to start.

Bush's ignorant presidency has lowered the IQ of the entire nation...Palin is the new Schlafley says Gloria Steinem

Wed, 09/17/2008 - 9:20am
You're our choir, so I know you're not the one who needs to read this, but maybe you can share it with a misguided friend...
Palin: wrong woman, wrong message
Sarah Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Hillary Clinton. She is Phyllis Schlafly, only younger. by Gloria Steinmen - LA Times, Sept. 4

Ignorance and incompetence seem to be the legacy of George W. Bush's presidency. So much so that his party's candidate John McCain would choose a VP running mate who still says ..."When asked last month about the vice presidency, she said, "I still can't answer that question until someone answers for me: What is it exactly that the VP does every day?" When asked about Iraq, she said, "I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq." Gloria Steinem writes in Los Angeles Times, Sept. 4, 2008

ummm...ok, great, thanks Ms. Palin -- anything else?

So Gloria Steinem shares with us that Palin is the new Phyllis Schlafley.
take a read of an intelligent and thoughtful article.
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-steinem4-2008sep04,0,7915118.story

..."So let's be clear: The culprit is John McCain. He may have chosen Palin out of change-envy, or a belief that women can't tell the difference between form and content, but the main motive was to please right-wing ideologues; the same ones who nixed anyone who is now or ever has been a supporter of reproductive freedom. If that were not the case, McCain could have chosen a woman who knows what a vice president does and who has thought about Iraq; someone like Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison or Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine. McCain could have taken a baby step away from right-wing patriarchs who determine his actions, right down to opposing the Violence Against Women Act. " same article, Los Angeles Times.

Gifts from the Bush administration...

Fri, 09/05/2008 - 10:10am
We don't begrudge any lady her fashion addictions, but when the Republican party tells you they can relate to high gas prices and foreclosed mortgages and tough economic times that were the gift of the Bush administration, we hope you won't believe them.
It's just another lie.
They don't pump their own gas, they don't even write the checks for their own mortgages...(however many there are?) they have "people" who do that for them. "people" who don't make as much money as they do.

So if you're thinking about voting for these assholes again, please see below so you understand how your tax dollars are being spent and why you won't be getting a decent raise...

Ok, let's take a look at the RNC power babes and their outfits for the convention...
Thanks to the Vanity Fair fashion department, here is the price tag for their outfits:
Laura Bush:
Oscar de la Renta suit: $2,500
Stuart Weitzman heels: $325
Pearl stud earrings: $600-$1,500
Total: Between $3,425 and $4,325
Cindy McCainOscar de la Renta dress: $3,000

Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000
Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000-$25,000S
hoes, designer unknown: $600
Total: Between $299,100 and $313,100
$300,000 yearly salary for five U.S. autoworkers.

Republican NC- Arrest Amy Goodman from DemocracyNow.org

Seems the pen is mightier than the sword...
Ok, what makes Amy Goodman from Democracy Now so dangerous that she has to be arrested and kept from the Republican Convention...are you kidding? Police in vests? Amy Goodman? That's like arresting your grandmother... Goodman was arrested while questioning police about the unlawful detention of Kouddous and Salazar who were arrested while they carried out their journalistic duties in covering street demonstrations at the RNC.
