I love Karl, Dick And Rumsfeld as the support team! (but only in THIS context--not in real life...) Harpo is great in this one! Love the series!

I love Karl Rove's dancing. Did you ever see Rove try to dance at the White House correspondents dinner? It was just like that. Only, without the gay strippers.

OK, I love the stuff that's over the top, too. And I love the stuff that is so fucking accurate. Your Alberto Gonzalez is so spot-on it's painful. But the subtleties are the best. Did anyone else notice the arrangement of Dubya's flag pins when he confronts Jebus? That arrangement expresses Dubya's true beliefs.

Hey, pla. The intention on Lincoln's line may not translate to the UK. But one of the things Lincoln is revered for here is his humility. So yes, while Lincoln was a profound man, he always characterized himself as a simple man with simple wisdom. So for me the idea is one of contrast. Here's Lincoln, this profound but humble man, speaking with the measured eloquence of his era. The first contrast is between the great Lincoln and his humility in front of this jack-ass (Bush) who literally can't think of a mistake he's made as President. (When he was asked for one in a press conference, he couldn't name any.) And the second contrast is between the set-up line... Lincoln, as we expect him. Intelligent, mannered... but so frustrated by Bush he slips into the very un-Lincoln like, "If I had fucked up this badly in my time, there would still be slavery!" Not a very subtle contrast, to be sure. But I never liked my satire subtle. :) I hope this answers your question. And I'm very glad you're enjoying the series.
